Tara Doran
I am a holistic, person-centered, strength based therapist who sees each individual client for who they are, a complex human in a complex world. I have worked with teens and their families throughout my career and strive to speak to the inner child within my adult. I know the importance of being heard and seen and will listen to understand, reflect with insight, as well as share my knowledge of best practice strategies for coping. Post pandemic earth is a tough place to live. My clients have experienced increased anxiety, feelings of hopelessness, stress and anger; around loss, personal responsibilities, connection, and just taking up space in a chaotic world. I approach therapy as a journey of taking back parts of yourself that have been lost to loss and harm, while discovering emerging new parts. Though our discussions get heavy, I aim to smile and laugh with my clients through it all. Using a multitude of modalities including DBT, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and mind/body connection strategies, clients can become more present and connected to themselves, others, and decrease negative symptoms. Our space is a safe space to process all that you have surmounted, fight what you are still fighting, and learn to celebrate and honor, You. My background in Restorative Justice guides my approach to conflict resolution and communication strategies.
