Tyler Melvin
I received my Masters in Psychology from Augusta University in 2019. Through my education and work, I have experience working with diverse populations such as those with chronic pain, veterans, couples, adults, and adolescents. I use a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and other interpersonal modalities to help others overcome the fallout of trauma, depression, anxiety, and relational difficulties. My therapeutic approach prioritizes meeting clients where they are and helping them at their own pace. It is important to me that clients are able to build a sense of safety and trust in me before significant work begins. I often take a gentle approach to building insight and providing challenges. My aim is to help others evaluate themselves and their environment through a new, adaptive lens that provides relief from their current stressors and make life feel meaningful. In our sessions, we will work collaboratively to build a treatment plan that works with your goals and values. By helping clients evaluate the need for change, building up a more robust set of coping skills, and providing a safe place that facilitates openness and trust, I believe you will notice improvements in your internal world and interpersonal relationships, and you will have a more adaptive view of your world that facilitates personal strength and meaning.
