Psychotherapy can be challenging, but it is a rewarding process. Most people discuss problems in their lives. They often forget about what is going well, and their natural talents & abilities. I trained and supervise psychologists at area hospitals. Because of this I am sensitive to cultural and ethical concerns. I strive to create a safe atmosphere for personal exploration. Psychotherapy should be collaborative. I am vocal and active and give my clients ongoing feedback. We will get to know each other and establish a platform of trust so that you can begin to feel comfortable with yourself. We will discuss how gentleness, honesty and awareness can allow previously denied or exiled parts of yourself have voice. This requires a patience and a self compassion which is critical to establishing a love for yourself. Through gentle testing and exercises we can help you reclaim your natural spontaneity and aliveness. Psychotherapy is often awkward by nature. It tries to avoid prescripted ways of understanding and communicating, and is forever searching to find more honest, grounded and spontaneous ways of relating. This often requires some patience and at times a willingness to tolerate uncomfortable feelings. Together we will explore paths which have previously been ignored or kept dark or silent. We will do this with respect, kindess and immense self-compassion.
