Wyndham Oneal
Hello, I'm Wyndham O'Neal, and I'm excited to meet you! I graduated with a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health from Harding University in 2019. With several years of experience in different capacities, I have been working as a professionally licensed counselor since 2020 (under supervision til 2022). Now, I run a private practice, working with adults ages 18-65 on an individual basis to address issues ranging from basic life adjustments all the way up to severely traumatic experiences. My approach is first and foremost shame-averse and purposeful towards growth. I prefer to operate in what is "effective vs. ineffective" towards meeting therapeutic goals, and work diligently to confront and extricate shame from the therapeutic environment. I specialize in EMDR trauma therapy, and lean on cognitive-behavioral therapeutic approaches for non-trauma issues. I also value authenticity over sterility, so my interests and personality are tightly interwoven into my professionalism. My clients can expect to be challenged towards growth, clarification of their own perspectives through examination of alternative perspectives, and empowerment for intentional and purposeful action towards therapeutic objectives - using mistakes, imperfections, and flaws as opportunities rather than failures. My goal is to create an environment of safety where struggle is not only accepted, but embraced in the pursuit of growth and development.
