Youngok Kim
Dr. Young Ok Kim enjoys helping those facing diverse challenges such as: anxiety and depression, trauma (including growing up in an abusive family), self-esteem, attachment issues, struggles with loss and grief, relationship and family conflict, and spiritual struggles related to mental health. Particularly, she has a special heart for 1.5 and 2nd generation Asians and their parents who face difficulties related to the unique generational differences stemming from language and cultural barriers. Dr. Kim's approach involves identifying and addressing root causes of an individual's concerns, rather than settling for temporary short-term solutions. She helps clients explore their experiences and relationships to uncover underlying patterns that contribute to their pain. In doing so, She believes that each will experience their authentic self. She is interested in integration of faith and psychology. Practicing self-compassion and being kinder in the way you talk to yourself and treat yourself. Making more time for self-care and activities that help you feel restored and happy. Learning to stand up and speak up for yourself and ask for what you need.
