Aaron Kimble
Dr. Aaron J. Kimble currently serves as a Sr. Project Manager for DeKalb County as well as a licensed clinical therapy associate for A Place for Me Counseling and WholeHeart Psychotherapy. As a Sr. Project Manager for DeKalb County, Dr. Kimble serves as the Chair for the Hotel/Motel, Multifamily and Tattoo Parlor Task Forces, where he uses this avenue to promote social justice through researching and writing policy for socioeconomic change. As a multi-faceted clinician, Dr. Kimble focuses on assisting clients through holistic healing of the body, mind and spirit. Dr. Kimble utilizes cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic and emotionally focused therapies to assist individuals, couples and families in achieving their mental health goals. Dr. Kimble specializes in treating clients with sexual and performance issues, grief, narcissism, LGBT+ and social justice concerns. Dr. Kimble has over 7,000 hours of clinical experience including clinical training. Dr. Kimble also co-hosts his monthly podcast where he discusses sociopolitical, economic and mental health topics. In his spare time, Dr. Kimble enjoys watching and participating in sports, reading, traveling, exercising, writing, hiking and spending time with his family. As an avid reader, Aaron is currently reading The Angry Therapist by John Kim. Some of his favorite books include The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, James Baldwin’s Giovanni’s Room and The Fire Next Time, Alice Walker’s The Color Purple, and Audre Lorde’s Sister Outsider. In addition to reading, I currently subscribe to podcasts such as Brene Brown’s Unlocking Us, The Audio Sex Party, Sex with Dr. Jess and The Undressing Room. Dr. Kimble has earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from LSU, an MBA in Management from AIU-Atlanta, a PhD in Organizational Leadership from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and a Masters of Arts in Counseling Therapy from Northwestern University. Dr. Kimble believes strongly in the personal mantra of working hard and playing hard.
