Sometimes, life goes so fast, and things get confusing all around us, especially when we’re going through changes in our lives. These things can affect our ability to cope and manage life, especially if we don’t have the necessary tools to work through them. If we can’t cope, we get frustrated, confused and powerless. I can help you unravel the confusion, frustration and fear that life is throwing at you. I graduated from Barry University in Miami, Florida with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. I have been a therapist for over 20 years, and I had my private practice on and off for 10 years. More recently I obtained professional licenses in other states beside Florida (GA, MO, OH, SC). I work primarily with adults and young adults experiencing depression, anxiety or struggling with substance abuse. I previously worked with Health insurance companies as well as Employee Assistance Programs linking clients to behavioral health services, community services and providing psychoeducation on mental illness and substance abuse. I use an eclectic approach when working with clients. I used person centered therapy to provide an environment in which we can relate in an open and honest manner, without judgment so we can learn to trust one another. Using psychodynamic approaches helps me identify past behavioral patterns that are no longer working for clients. I also use cognitive behavioral therapy to begin changing the way we think and interpret the world, and to see the connection between our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Together we can work on unraveling the confusion and help you develop skills to make sense of what’s going on around you.
