
Alexis Hydewashmon
I have 23+ years in the field of mental health and behavioral analysis, working with individuals ages 12 months to over 70 years. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Psychology and then obtained a M.S. in Counseling Psychology (with a Specialty in MFT) from Our Lady of the Lake University. I hold licenses as a professional counselor, marriage and family therapist and behavior analyst in Texas and am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). I have been educated in theory incorporating applied behavior analysis, cognitive and dialectical behavior therapy, collaborative learning theory, and family systems theory. I have experience working with children and adults with a wide range of mental challenges in individual, family and group settings as follows: outpatient and inpatient settings (including hospital, PICU, clinical, and residential), educational (school) settings, as well as in-home and community environments. I am creative in my approach to therapy and work with individuals in their time and space of growth. I am flexible in treating mental challenges in a variety of venues. I am dedicated to assisting and improving our mental health community and societal awareness therein. I believe in creatively assisting individuals in need to better their lives, the lives of their family and society, while reaching their highest potential and finding personal fulfillment.
