Andrews Velez
Life has a habit of throwing obstacles at us that often leave us feeling stuck. Being stuck can look like depression, anxiety, work/life issues or just not knowing what to do or where to go. Sometimes the obstacles are bigger and come in the form of trauma or relationship distress. Regardless of the cause, you don't have to stay stuck, or try to pull yourself through the obstacles alone. I can help you look at what you are facing through a different perspective and find a strategy to move past whatever is holding you down. I graduated from Liberty University in 2020 with a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been working in private practice therapy offices for over 4 years. I work with clients that are dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar depression. I am familiar with the complex circumstances that service members and military families face (deployment and civilian transition concerns). I also have experience working with law enforcement and first responders. Prior to entering the mental health field I served as both a Youth, and Senior Pastor and am familiar with matters of faith as well as the hurdles to seeking mental health care within the church. I focus on working with teens/adults (aged 13-45) and couples. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral and Solution-Focused approaches to help clients see their obstacles in a different perspective and work efficiently towards realistic solutions. Christian/Faith-Based counseling is available upon request and I enjoy working with Pastors, Ministers and their families to navigate the gap between spirituality and mental health. Shifting perspective and using realistic solutions can take you from being stuck to moving forward in your life, relationship, or towards your goals. Allow me to help you remove the obstacles that are preventing you from being your best self/selves.
