Hello and a heartfelt welcome! I'm Carmel Browne, and it's truly a joy to have you here.

I've had the privilege of being a licensed clinical social worker since 2004, initially in Illinois, and now in Washington State, where I've been licensed since 2024. Throughout my career, I've been fortunate enough to connect with a diverse array of individuals and groups, from parents and young children to adolescents and adults. Each person brings a unique story, and I am genuinely honored to be a part of their journey toward healing and growth.

The challenges that my clients face are as varied as the individuals themselves—be it depression, anxiety, addiction, post-traumatic stress, or navigating the complex emotions of grief and loss. My journey has allowed me to gain experience across several fields, including child welfare, dual disorder treatment, and behavioral health, equipping me with a broad understanding of the systems that impact our lives. Additionally, as a certified forensic interviewer, I have supported individuals who have endured physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, standing by them as they find their voice and strength.

I deeply understand how daunting it can be to reach out for help, and I want to acknowledge the courage it takes to do so. How do we determine which ones to display?

Rather than make specific provider recommendations, we present options and information so you can make an informed decision on what provider best fits your needs. Where we have multiple participating providers, we present multiple options (and where we don't, we prioritize adding more options to our site over time). We present providers whose capabilities, insurance coverage, availability and other attributes best match your stated needs. If many providers appear to equally meet your needs, we display a selection of them at random. Our decision on which participating providers to display is never impacted by the amount of fees we receive from them.

What causes us to remove providers from our site?

We require that providers meet all licensing requirements of states where they offer services. If a provider loses their license, they are removed from our site for that state or service. We also seek feedback from users on providers they find on our site. We investigate significant negative feedback and remove providers if we conclude that to be appropriate.
