Hi there, my name is Cheri Slaughter and I am a licensed clinical social worker here in Colorado and Arizona. We face challenges every day, and if there are unknown triggers holding you to past patterns that are not working, or to unfair judgments about yourself, there could be an invisible barrier to living your best life. My unique background includes an undergraduate degree in biology that I used for early careers in a clinical laboratory, tissue donation, and as a coroner investigator. After spending time talking with individuals and families who were experiencing grief and loss, I took what I believed then to be a left turn for a pursuit to a master's degree in social work. Turns out the two blend very well into somatic therapy. Our bodies and minds have never been 'disconnected' and perhaps we are only re-learning what it is to see them as connected. The social and physical sciences do not have to be differentiated. They paint a full and whole picture of who we are. This is my pursuit; to assist in reuniting who we truly are as one whole being, as a part of nature and community.

I work mostly with adults and children who have experienced trauma. If you are experiencing ongoing anxiety and depression, you may have trauma memories that are imprinted in your mind and your body. Let's work together to get a sense of who you are and what your ideal self entails. We will look at your life, your values, and utilize your strengths to uncover what may be holding you back from your best you, and your best life. I look forward to meeting you. My pronouns are she, her, hers and while my main focus is EMDR, I find joy in implementing unique approaches that we will set together. I offer online sessions only at this time. I utilize RemotEMDR and Bilateral Base as platforms for doing EMDR at home. Each platform offers bilateral stimulation via eye movement, tones, and vibration. For the audio tones, you will need headphones that can be linked to your phone and/or computer. For vibration, you can rent from me the two pulsars that attach to your computer, buy the two pulsars from BiTapp for $300 for the pair, and/or utilize the two controllers from a PlayStation 4 system.

If many providers appear to equally meet your needs, we display a selection of them at random. Our decision on which participating providers to display is never impacted by the amount of fees we receive from them.

What causes us to remove providers from our site?

We require that providers meet all licensing requirements of states where they offer services. If a provider loses their license, they are removed from our site for that state or service. We also seek feedback from users on providers they find on our site. We investigate significant negative feedback and remove providers if we conclude that to be appropriate.
