As a woman who has experienced all of these things, I discovered the best version of myself sitting anxiously in the client’s seat of my therapist’s office. It was one of the most difficult things I'd ever done. But doing so has been the most uncomfortable and equally rewarding thing I’ve ever done for myself- because therapy, if you stick with it and do the work, is the gift that keeps on giving. It has made me a more confident woman, a better daughter and sister, wife and mom, a more effective and compassionate therapist – but most of all, a better friend to myself and others. Therapy is hard work, but living in mental turmoil and indefinite pain is harder. Therapy with me will help you gain a better understanding of yourself, give you the safe space to sort through the things that have gotten in your way, revisit the past so you can better understand what’s going on around you and rebuild yourself with the proper tools to engage when you need them. My approach is pretty eclectic - I pull tools pulled from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, some Psychodynamic work, as well as Family Systems, and Spirituality to name a few – however, I do not use therapy jargon “in the room”. If you’re looking for a straight-shooter with a heavy dose of compassion to help guide you through these challenges, we may be a great fit to do this work together.
