Cora Richter
My name is Cora Richter, and as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), I provide psychotherapy services to adults ages 18+ in NY, NJ, CT, and PA. My educational background include masters degrees in both psychology and social work from Columbia University. Prior to opening my private practice, I have worked in research settings, academic medical centers, IOPs and group therapy practices. Across these settings, my responsibilities have spanned from intern to Clinical Director. Everyone has a unique story and deserves an individualized approach to care. My therapeutic approach is client-centered, and typically blends psychodynamic therapy with CBT, DBT, and executive function skills training. I’ll be there to listen to you, challenge you, and support you along the way. I work with clients with a range of symptoms and diagnoses, most commonly anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life changes, ADHD, perinatal mental health, eating disorders, and trauma. It is my firm belief that having the opportunity to work with clients on their therapy goals is an honor and a privilege. My practice is a virtual, collaborative space free from judgment. Clients leaving sessions with me should expect to feel listened to, respected, validated, and hopeful. Additionally, depending on the course of treatment we plan for, clients can expect to leave sessions with concrete coping skills, thoughtfully identified exercises, and a renewed sense of control.
