Craigory Dunn
My name is Craigory Dunn and I am Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist in North Carolina. For 10 years, I have worked in addiction counseling, helping teens and adults navigate the addiction and recovery process. In 2012, I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a minor in Psychology. In 2018, I graduated from Grand Canyon University, earning a Master of Science in Addiction Counseling. My approach is client centered; I believe in showing the client empathy, respect and compassion throughout the therapeutic process. My aim is to provide a safe space for conversations to occur about the needs of the client, while providing tools and resources necessary to help the client achieve their goals for treatment. Addiction is often birthed from an attempt to enhance one's experience and/or cope with one's environment through substance use. I want the client to understand that the concerns they have are valid, while exploring ways to enhance their experience and cope with their environment that don't involve substance use or abuse. To that end, evidence based practices will be used in sessions to promote a changed mindset, consistent effort, boundary setting and increased accountability and support.
