David Karlberg
I am an Rutgers School of Social Work alumni, graduating with an MSW in 2014, and became a full time therapist in 2018, leaving a 24+ year career in computer software. I have worked in agencies treating victims and perpetrators of domestic violence, homelessness and mental illness, and clients with AIDS. I have successfully counseled outpatient clients suffering depression, anxiety, panic attacks, trauma, PTSD, anger mgmt issues, relationship issues, chronic pain and chronic illness. I strive to provide effective client-centered, strength-based therapy, combining evidence-based and evidence-informed content with a strong and compassionate working relationship. I believe that everyone has strengths, and that I can help you identify and use these strengths to create solutions and healthy options, enabling you to live more a peaceful, productive, joyful, compassionate life while improving your connections with the important people in your life. I have a compassionate and practical approach to helping. I will listen carefully and non-judgmentally to you while you talk about your struggles and difficulties, dreams and disappointments. Then together we can look at ways to reduce your suffering and struggle. I will offer skills and strategies that you can apply after the first session, and we will review how they worked for you the during our next session.
