David Kieval
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a doctorate from Rutgers University. I have extensive experience assessing and treating children, young adults, and families, and I have expertise working with individuals on the autism spectrum or with other neurodevelopmental diagnoses (e.g., ADHD). I also have speciality working with stress, anxiety, and trauma. I believe that you are the expert on your own experience, and I approach every client with curiosity and an eagerness to understand your problems and goals from your perspective. I use a practical approach, with a foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). With child clients, I work both with parents and directly with children, in order to both build skills and help support their success at home. I will help you to identify concrete goals and work from Day 1 toward solutions and to build new skills, strategies, and perspectives. I balance that action- and solution-oriented approach with a warm, welcoming space that validates your experience and helps everyone feel seen, understood, and cared for.
