I believe this has greatly increased my ability to work with survivors of abuse and trauma. When working with others I like to find out what their goals are and what they feel they are ready to work on to improve their quality of life. I encourage, validate and support throughout the therapeutic experience to help someone achieve their goals.
I have personal and professional experience with childhood abuse, and suicide that has afforded me the ability to empathize and know first hand some of the hardships associated with these circumstances. In addition, my professional experience has allowed me to learn some very effective options in helping others.
