Donna Palmer
As human beings we all experience stages of change through the life cycle. Some of us embrace the change and others perceive change as chaos from our place of comfort or safety. Despite our response to change it can be immensely helpful to have an unbiased individual listen, give feedback and assist with coping through the unknown. My varied life experiences as a mother of six, ex Air Force Medical Evacuation nurse, mental health worker and licensed professional counselor have prepared me to both understand and assist in your life journey. I understand the challenges of negotiating the rough spots. I graduated with a Master of Arts in Counseling and an Eds in Community Mental Health. I have been a licensed counselor for 17 yrs having seen clients from many backgrounds, cultures, races and religions. We all share the human experience which can be both beautiful, difficult and painful in a complex mixture of emotions. I work with clients in transition: medical crisis, retirement, divorce, family dysfunction, anxiety, depression, or simply a desire for self understanding. Using an eclectic approach of cognitive behavioral tools, systems theory and strategic problem solving we can work as a team to meet your mental health goals. My strengths are empathy, personal regard and a belief that families and individuals deserve an ally in their quest to find their personal peace.
