Erin Vanluven
I graduated with my Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from Michigan State University in 2008 and have worked in psychiatric social work providing psychotherapy ever since. I have extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Family Therapy and Exposure Therapies. I am currently a member of the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies and the National Association of Social Workers. Everyone's journey is individualized and the first step to successful treatment is building a connection that is founded in empathy and understanding. As a therapist, I work hard to understand my patient's individual needs and desires and then collaboratively we build treatment that fits your goals. A belief that I hold foundational to my practice is that all individual's are doing the best they can and, with support, they can learn to do better. Therapy is about progress not perfection. As a patient of mine you and/or your child can expect to be met with warmth and understanding, while also learning evidence-based take home practices starting from our first session. We will work together to identify, define and change the areas of your life that are no longer working for you. We will create a collaborative environment that may include family members, schools, or other providers, when needed, to support you or your child.
