Francisco Soto
The time that I have been supporting individuals through psychotherapy has helped me understand that individuals can cope, change behaviors and manage their emotions and thoughts effectively. Life can be a challenge to navigate and realizing that change is possible and that recovery is a process is of great value to the individuals that are in need. I can help guide the individual through the recovery process with empathy and compassion, understanding that the power to changes belongs solely to the individual. I graduated from George Mason University with a Master's in Education with a concentration in Counseling. As a licensed professional counselor (LPC), I have worked with individuals for over 20-years that speak English and Spanish. I primarily work with adults that have experienced trauma-PTSD, depression, suicidal thoughts and related issues, and anxiety. I worked with Fairfax County, Loudoun County and other organizations, helping immigrants, individuals with serious mental illness, veterans and those with substance use disorders. I focus on adults, using cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive processing, positive psychology, and supportive therapy. By empowering the individual to recognize the need to change, change thinking, managing emotions and modifying behavior, these counseling approaches can be effectively applied. Therapy is a journey and this can be done together with help and support.
