Funmi Akinrimisi is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She completed her undergraduate degree in Nursing at Texas Tech University and completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University. Before working in the NP role, Funmi has several years of experience in medical-surgical /Pediatric but specifically 10 years of experience in geriatric, adult, and child Psychiatry nursing. Funmi is passionate about her client health status.   Funmi believes in a holistic approach towards treatment and aims to address contributing factors leading to less-than-optimal life quality for her patients. She finds it important to explore both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment methods while also incorporating good physical health and lifestyle changes. She has a special interest in treating mental disorder populations and reducing the stigma related to mental health. She performs psychiatric evaluation and develops a treatment plan to meet the specific needs of patients diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder. My clients should comfort and improvement in their mental states post therapy session.

To make our site free for consumers, providers on Psych Hub pay fees to connect with potential clients who are a fit for their services. How do we determine which ones to display?

Rather than make specific provider recommendations, we present options and information so you can make an informed decision on what provider best fits your needs. Where we have multiple participating providers, we present multiple options (and where we don't, we prioritize adding more options to our site over time). We present providers whose capabilities, insurance coverage, availability and other attributes best match your stated needs. If many providers appear to equally meet your needs, we display a selection of them at random. Our decision on which participating providers to display is never impacted by the amount of fees we receive from them.
