I am a professional therapist, husband, father, and grandfather with a dedication to changing minds and lives for the better, past and present, despite adversity, situations, and circumstances. I’ve been inviting clients to collaborate with me for the past 5 decades to process issues and barriers that stand in the way of making their lives work better.
As a clinician, I have held positions such as counseling psychologist, psychotherapist, clinical director, educator, clinical supervisor and consultant in various settings such as government service, social service agencies, private practice, corrections, hospitals, and drug rehabilitation treatment facilities.
I am credentialed as a professional therapist and substance abuse specialist in Arizona, Washington, Nebraska, and Michigan. I provide evidence-based theoretical orientations, based upon need, with an emphasis on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). However, I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), and other personalized strategies to reduce functional and experiential impairments and to nurture psychological health, flexibility, personal growth, and personal fulfillment.
