I love working with clients who may need guidance setting boundaries with others, have high anxiety, or want to improve their relationships. I have a Masters in Social Work and a Bachelors in Psychology, and specialized in adult mental health. I began my career working with families affected by dementia, but have since expanded to working with adults with anxiety. My favorite modalities to use are Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Narrative. I prefer to get to know you and how you experience life, especially how you think. I do challenge you sometimes, kindly, to help see things from new perspectives and to try things you may have never tried before. Therapy can be hard work, and I've found that the more you put into it and the more open you are to the process, the more you're going to get out of it. I like to set expectations between sessions for what you will be wanting to work on or focus on. I find that this helps people to see more clearly the progress they've made through our work together, and if it's something you're really excited but maybe a little nervous to try, then it's the right "homework" for you. I expect clients to take away a feeling of being understood, heard, validated, and hopefully inspired to begin making the changes in their life they have been wanting.
