She earned her Master’s of Social Work from the University of Maryland-Baltimore. She also holds a Masters in Legal and Ethical Studies from University of Baltimore as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Montana. In addition to working in a busy Veteran’s Hospital for the past 6 years, she also worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital community mental health program helping adults experiencing homelessness, legal issues, substance abuse issues to manage their social issues as well as processing grief. Due to her work she has extensive experience and training in the treatment of anxiety and depression including depression related to grief. Her strength-based approach to counseling is client-centered and integrates techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She is passionate about building upon her client’s inherent strengths to form the foundation for stability and successful reintegration. As a therapist, she will work with you to empower you and make positive changes to manage your mental health symptoms in daily life. She is known to create a positive, safe, and supportive environment to help you cope with various life stressors. She provides information and proven techniques that assist you in using your strengths and developing skills to overcome life’s challenges. Her counseling style will always remain calm, non-judgmental, client-centered, and trauma-informed. She is committed to helping you define what really matters in your life and navigating choices in that direction.
