I believe that achieving and maintaining mental health is as important as maintaining one’s physical health.
My ideal client is someone who desires to make changes in their life but may not yet know how. I will be a partner with you on your road to self-improvement, self-discovery, and personal empowerment. I enjoy working with clients who are willing to make the commitment to themselves to do the work necessary to implement change. I will assist my clients in developing the self-awareness needed to identify obstacles they are encountering that prevent them from leading their most fulfilling life.
Respecting the individual’s needs, abilities, and their current progress in their mental health journey, I believe in tailoring my therapeutic approach to match the individual needs of the client. I believe that developing healthy boundaries both inside and outside of the therapeutic process will allow clients to lay a foundation that will propel them forward on their path to mental health wellness.
I do not believe that a client has to be in therapy for an indefinite period of time. In some instances, meaningful changes can be made in a shorter period of time. It is my job to equip you with the necessary skills to allow you to thrive in your life while minimizing the amount of time you remain in treatment.
I work with people who are presented with a variety of life challenges. My areas of expertise include: mood disorders (depression/anxiety), psychosis (thought disorders), personality disorders, and substance use disorders. I am experienced in working with military veterans with substance abuse addictions, anxiety, and trauma/PTSD. I also specialize in working with individuals who are a part of the criminal justice system on both the juvenile and adult levels. I provide treatment to individuals, couples, children, adolescents, families, and groups.
The therapy process is a collaborative one. Together we will identify your needs, establish treatment goals, and work to establish new, healthy thought processes and behaviors. I look forward to working with you.
