Jami Ivey
Hello, I'm Jami Ivey. I'm excited to meet you! Together we'll work on your therapy goals one step at a time. I see clients with a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, PTSD, and grief. Generally, I work with adults and adolescents. We all go through different stressors and/or life changes: so talking with someone can be beneficial. Therapy is a great way to obtain support, insight, and guidance through difficult times. I enjoy working with people who are goal-oriented and want to work to better themselves. I use more of an eclectic approach in therapy. Each client's issues and needs determine the therapeutic approach used in the session. It is very common for more than one approach to be utilized. Person-Centered approach is important. Other approaches I use often are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, Mindfulness, Trauma Informed, Insight Oriented, and behavior Modifications. I graduated from Murray State University with my Bachelor's Degree and obtained my Master's of Science in Social Work from the University of Louisville. I have been an LCSW for over 23 years, but have worked in the field in various capacities for almost 30 years. I have had the opportunity to work with people of all ages in therapeutic settings over the years. I lived in Kentucky for about 20 years but moved back to Tennessee 10 years ago. I am licensed in both states. Since moving back to Tennessee my focus has been my private practice where I have partnered with various Primary Care Clinics in Northwest Tennessee to see clients in the clinics to focus on both physical and mental health. Over the last several years, I have been expanding Telehealth capabilities through my private practice. When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family. I love to travel and try to go to some new places each year so I can have new experiences.
