Janet Suffel
I graduated from Regent University in May 2007. I have been licensed since July2010 and have been in private practice since that time. Choosing to become a counselor was a difficult decision for me, as it necessitated returning to school after 20 years as a working professional . However, it is the best decision of my life to date. I have experience working with adolescents and adults. The individuals I’ve worked with are dealing with resolving childhood (and recent) traumatic events in their lives as well as anxiety and/or depression. When working with trauma I assist the individual in resolving those events and help them understand how those events have impacted their life up to this point. When working with an individual dealing with anxiety, I provide concrete tools to assist them in their daily lives. Reaching out to talk to a stranger is often difficult for people in our society today. You have made the first step on the journey to the rest of your life. I am excited you have chosen me as your guide. I look forward to walking part of your life journey with you. I specialize in working with adults who need to overcome childhood and/or adult trauma. I utilize a unique method that helps you to reframe the events so that you are no longer seeing only the negative aspects of the trauma. I am available for live sessions one day each week (normally Tuesdays) but check messages often and can (by request) schedule a session out of my normal schedule. I try very hard to be available for me clients and still maintain my own work/life balance.
