Jocelyn Chamrabarrera
I received my bachelor's and my master's of science in social work from the University of Texas at Austin. My career has been spent supporting clients of all ages and their families. After working with the Center for Child Protection, I currently serve as the Executive and Clinical Director at the Christi Center, an organization dedicated to those navigating grief due to death losses. providing individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults experiencing grief, loss, and trauma. Grief and loss are highly stigmatized experiences in our society, with people expecting it to look or feel a very specific way. I want you to know that however you’re feeling—no matter how long it’s been—is okay. I work with both adolescents and adults to process their grief and identify ways they can grow from their experiences, recognizing that your phase of life can contribute to how grief shows up in it. I’m not here to be another voice telling you that “I know how you feel” or “I completely understand.” I don’t. Your experience is unique. In therapy, that experience will be honored and I will meet you right where you’re at to regain your footing and support you on this journey.
