Joellen Walter has been in practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor for the last 5 years. She specializes in helping clients understand and cope with such issues Trauma, Addictions, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar disorders and several other mental health disorders. Joellen believes in strong communication , boundaries, self-awareness, deciphering complicated feelings and the ability for the client to learn to grow and advocate for themselves. Utilizing skills in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Psychoeducation and Mindfulness she helps her clients practice self care, introspection and self confidence. Prior to her career as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Joellen was a personal trainer for 15 years and maintains several certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. In every environment she has worked in she is always recognized for hard work, innovation and motivation. When she is not working you can find Joellen at flea markets, antique shows or scrounging the internet for the next vintage soda sign. She also spends time with her 2 year old English Springer Spaniel, Jeff who is a trained and titled Therapy Dog, Dock Diving amateur and currently working towards titles in Agility and Barn Hunting.
