Kelsey Corken
You're not sure when it started, or why, but something feels off. You feel the pressure building as you try to balance the things that take your time and energy in life. You want to feel lively, humorous, joyful, motivated, confident, and light, but it doesn't feel available to you. Maybe you've learned to approach life with grit and determination, appearing solid and self-sufficient on the outside, but feeling unfulfilled, unsupported, and disconnected in the inside. Well, all of that sounds hard, and I'm SO proud for you to take time for yourself to see if things can be different and better for you. In therapy, we work within 3 major questions: Where am I now? Where am I going? How do I want to get there? I aim to use my direct, supportive, and validating style of communication and reflection to help clients discover their answers to these questions. I utilize mixes of cognitive behavioral theory (active listening, thought reframing, problem-solving, perspective-taking, coping skills, self-care activities) and self-determination theory (connection to others, autonomy) to help clients reestablish balance, vibrance, control, and success in their daily lives. If you're interested in getting started with sessions, I would be honored to help, and I appreciate your time and attention.
