Kim Kidders-Montoya is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Registered Drama Therapist (RDT) with over 6 years of experience. Kim is passionate about working with youth, adults, and their families to help them manage life's transitions and the complexities that make life worth living. Kim specializes in family dynamics, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, and empowerment. Kim completed a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Drama Therapy at Lesley University. Kim has worked in a variety of community-based mental health settings including, crisis intervention, group homes, and in-home therapy. These professional experiences have enabled her to identify that people are resilient, the power of personal experiences, and our intersecting identities. Kim utilizes treatment approaches including mindfulness, drama therapy, trauma-informed care, Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC), relational, and solution-focused therapy. Kim uses empathy and compassion stemming from awareness that everyone comes from different backgrounds and identities. At the core, Kim believes that therapy is based on creating meaningful relationships and is based on the individual or family served. Kim approaches therapy with curiosity, humor, and an energetic approach so individuals can gain a new perspective and techniques that allow them to be vulnerable, resilient, and cope with life's challenges.
