Kirsten Eid
I am a queer and neurodivergent clinician who has been practicing social work for over 10 years. I made a pivot to providing therapy full time in 2020. I particularly enjoy sharing the therapeutic space with people who have experiences of intersectionality. I am consistent, straight-forward, and ask a lot of questions. As humans, we learn to adapt as we experience things. Sometimes these adaptations can be helpful and at other times they can be unhelpful and result in barriers to reaching our goals. I believe that trauma is a form of adaptation. By recalibrating our trauma lens, we allow our brains to function more efficiently which gives more space for change. I believe that this is done through fostering curiosity and by shifting value judgments to a lens of cause and effect. I consider therapy an exploration and collaboration. I am skilled at following threads and themes throughout a client's lifetime and providing observations that will help create more clarity around experiences. Additionally, for those who are interested, I am able to help create activities for outside of session to support in additional growth. This is not required by any means and everyone has their own preference regarding this.
