Kristy Bormann
I am originally from Chicago. I first obtained my bachelor's in psychology. I dedicated my time to adolescents and eating disorders at that time. I later obtained my master's in social work in 2013. I have since worked in addiction therapy and community mental health work. Over the past decade I've helped people that were experiencing great distress, trauma responses, addiction, loving someone with addiction, loss, aging, cultural barriers, and disability. I am a holistic and eclectic therapist. I can provide simple feedback, but I also can assist a person in going deeper into their mind and behaviors. I have the ability to help a person gain insight through psychoeducation and a psychodynamic approach. I enjoy being able to give my expertise to others, to take my years of training, and give my clients all the information they may need to proceed in healing or reformation, as they wish. My clients can expect that sessions will give a sense of clarity, and mind opening experiences. I provide a caring and nonjudgmental environment, and honor a person's inner experience. I can give feedback or suggestions as needed. I like to leave my clients feeling educated, and free to move forward how they choose. I also provide a very safe and open space for diverse cultures, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and various religions or spiritual journeys.
