Laura Abreu
I am a BIPOC therapist that practices from an anti oppressive/anti racist and social justice orientation. I uniquely understand the struggles of being a person of color and growing up in an immigrant family within a white dominant society. I have a special understanding of cultural diversity and this cultural sensitivity is at the forefront of my practice. I believe that inner healing and healing generational trauma is the first step in mobilizing our communities. The tools that I'll provide you with are interventions I have been cultivating throughout my experience working with clients like you. I take a collaborative and you-centered approach to help guide clients to a more fulfilled, one where you no longer feel stuck and where your future goals feel within reach. My goal is to help you have accessible techniques within your toolbox so that when you are feeling out of control, you'll be able to manage those crisis moments with ease and find relief. Are you struggling with finding motivation or feeling paralyzed with anxiety? Are you a chronic people pleaser that struggles with boundaries? Are you at your wits end with your teen? Maybe you're a highly sensitive person who has struggled to find your place in this world and feels misunderstood. Maybe you have goals and dreams you would love to accomplish, but you feel stuck and may not know why. What you do know is that you're carrying a heavy weight that doesn't allow you to move forward.
