As your therapist, it’s my job to meet you where you’re at. What are you hoping to get out of therapy? We will identify goals and work together to achieve them. Whether you’ve been in therapy for years or this is your first session, we will work together to figure out what will be most beneficial. Therapy sessions can look a variety of ways. Maybe it’s processing a recent trauma, other times identifying and breaking unhealthy patterns. Our sessions will be a safe space where we can learn coping skills, build a better relationship with yourself and your body, figure out effective tactics for managing stress/anxiety, and more.
I often incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) in my work with clients. I work with many clients are coping with histories of complex trauma (cPTSD), Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Depression, Anxiety, and Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
I understand that starting (or returning) to therapy can be scary, exciting, and bring on a lot of emotions. Some people turn to therapy when they're struggling, some like to have therapy on a more consistent basis to help get through ongoing stressors, and some people may not know exactly why they're seeking therapy. However you got here, I am glad you made it. Everyone is welcome and I can't wait to start working with you.
