As a therapist, I've witnessed the incredible resilience within individuals, yet I recognize that life often presents painful and complex challenges. My mission is to provide a safe haven where clients receive the support and space needed to navigate these difficulties. My goal is to empower clients to find their voice and make decisions that resonate not just in the moment, but set them in a positive direction for their lives. In Accomplishing this, it enables them to acknowledge their own strength, uniqueness, and develop trust in their own voice. I take pride in being part of countless journeys toward self-confidence, self-compassion, and mental health wellness.
As a Denison University and Ohio State University alumni, I earned my psychology bachelor's in 1990 and a master's in social work in 1993. My initial 8 years were devoted to community mental health, offering emergency services, crisis intervention, as well as group and individual therapy. The subsequent 15 years were spent in private practice, specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for adolescents and adults. My focus encompassed depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, grief, gender identity, and life events. Currently, I've dedicated the last 8 years to group therapy, providing tools and education in an Outpatient Behavioral Health Program, empowering clients to advocate for themselves and create their best lives.
As a dedicated therapist, I am passionate about guiding individuals through transformative journeys. I specialize in challenging clients to reframe their perspectives on given situations. My therapeutic approach empowers individuals to explore new ways of thinking, leading to expanded possibilities and different, more positive outcomes. Through collaborative therapy sessions, we will work closely to facilitate a shift in mindset, fostering increased confidence and a belief in the capacity to effect positive and meaningful changes. My commitment is to create a space where you feel supported, heard, and validated and where you can openly explore your challenges, set realistic goals, and work towards personal growth.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you, providing guidance and support on your path to self-discovery and meaningful transformation.
