Lisa Bentivenga
Hi! I think of myself as a girl-next-door therapist, and new clients often tell me I'm easy to talk to. I like to use humor whenever possible. My approach is gentle and humble. I'll never go beyond your comfort level of discussion. My office is where you can spew your thoughts, cry and talk about yourself. I am a married cisgender woman. I have lived in Florida for a combined 34 years, but I am from St. Louis, Missouri. My husband and I have a 15 year son. During football season I am a team mom. I'm an animal lover with two cats. We are grieving the loss of our dog in August and my hope is get another dog once we have healed. I love going to the beach, traveling, documentaries, cooking and baking, and I love music of all kinds, from classical to classic jazz to rock from the 50s to rock from the 80s and 90s. I became a master's level social worker at 32, and my life experience prior to that has enriched my abilities to understand different types of people and what motivates them. I done this for 15 years and I have worked in foster care, hospice, medical settings and outpatient settings. I chose this field because I have experienced anxiety and depression and I know how disabling they are. I have lost three people in my life to suicide and I want to help prevent a client from taking that step as well, and counsel those grieving a suicide.
