Extensive counseling experience working in private practice with multicultural and socioeconomically diverse individuals, couples, and families. She has always been a "helper" since her youth. She has always had a passion for assisting others. Her friends and family have always confided in her and sought advice when faced with challenges and adversities. She has been a licensed professional counselor for 11 years, with a master’s degree in Counseling from Texas Southern University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. She has experience specifically working within mental health for over 16 years. She is also certified in Triple P Parenting and The Nurturing Parent curriculum. She uses a Holistic approach to therapy and is also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, The use of Art Therapy in short term work, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She specializes with individuals, adults, adolescents, couples, and families. She has extensive counseling experience working in private practice with diverse multicultural and socioeconomically individuals as well as working with teens and adults from the LBGTQ community, children & adolescents with at risk behaviors, and youth in residential treatment facilities. She also treats children & adolescents with emotional or behavioral issues, adults struggling with life transitions, family of origin, positive parenting methodologies, and family dysfunction. Also including couples’ issues, trauma, depression, anxiety and anger management. Prior to Private practice, she worked extensively in trauma-informed care with children and families within foster care, couples and family therapy with community-based programs, county jail and juvenile institution, and mental health county agency.
