
Mariama Diallo
Dr. Mariama Diallo is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) providing services in New York and New Jersey. She received her Master of Science in Social Work (MSW) from Columbia University, and her DSW from Rutgers University. Currently, Dr. Diallo is an Adjunct Professor at Hunter College (NYC) and at The Montclair State University, in New Jersey. Recipient of the 2022 Global Woman Award from George Washington University, DC, and The Global Woman Peace Foundation. Member of the NYC Mayor’s Office Advisory Board on FGM/C and Co-Chair of the Committee on Training and Education. Dr. Diallo is certified in a variety of clinical approaches including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Parent-Child Psychotherapy (CPP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Seeking Safety. She is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). Dr. Diallo has extensive experience in providing trauma-informed therapy to individuals who have experienced trauma, including intimate partner violence, and family and community violence; individuals with suicidal thoughts and other types of self-harming behaviors; and those who suffer from Depression, PTSD, Anxiety, and personality disorder. Dr. Diallo uses a holistic approach, drawn from a system theory that acknowledges the importance of understanding the role of interdependence, and how that can positively or negatively impact the well-being of individuals and families. Dr. Diallo understands the value of a collaborative method to support her patients in reaching their goals. Validation, Empowerment, and Self-determination are some of the foundations of her work.
