I am an independently Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of Ohio with 14 years of experience. I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Lourdes College in 2006 and a Masters's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Bowling Green State University in 2010. Since then, I have practiced in non-profit, private practice and case management settings and have experience working with individuals that are older teens through adulthood and couples as well. I understand life can be stressful, hard, and at times completely overwhelming, so let's talk! Whether clients are working through issues from the past or current issues, I want to provide a space to help you talk about and process those emotions. I believe that the therapeutic process should include empowering my clients with the knowledge, skills, and tools to cope with difficult emotions in order to create a positive and lasting change. I believe in using an empathetic and client-centered approach in which the client sets the goals for the therapeutic process, but I will always be right alongside my clients as a support and guide for change! Like most therapists, I use a multi-theory approach depending on current concerns, but like CBT, REBT, narrative and solution-focused among many others. I truly believe in the power and strength of the mind and how it can influence and change our behaviors. In many situations, if we can somehow transform negative or disruptive thinking patterns, we can interrupt, challenge and change behavioral patterns to more positive or desirable ones. Mental health issues can really take a tole on our bodies. I also believe in a holistic outlook, meaning that if our emotions and behaviors are struggling, our entire being is likely struggling as well. Getting your mental health back on track can get your whole body feeling good again!
