Marsha Hicks
I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Stony Brook University, School of Social Welfare and has been working in the field since 2004. I am currently licensed by the state of Florida as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I specialize in providing counseling to individuals with anxiety disorder, depression, borderline personality disorder, and trauma related issues. I use a variety of treatment modalities which incorporate best practice from an eclectic and strengths-based approach that is deeply rooted in humanistic psychology and is guided by the needs of the client. I do not tie myself to one approach. Instead, I blend elements from different approaches and tailor my treatment to each client's needs. Do you find yourself over thinking, over-reacting, procrastinating and or second guessing yourself? Has your inner critic taken control of your thought patterns, making it difficult for you to live your very best life? Beginning therapy means different things to different people, but it is often an action of courage, hope, self-care, and self-determination. I incorporate a holistic approach while utilizing DBT, CBT, Schema Therapy and Mindfulness Techniques. ·
