Melissa Loudon
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience. I've served a variety of populations including adjudicated youth, families in the child welfare system, adults with substance use issues, and individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities. I'm passionate about supporting adults in the LGBTQ+ community as well as anyone facing self-esteem issues, a life transition, or healing from past trauma. My approach is relatively informal, warm and supportive, and grounded in the belief in the dignity and worth of every person. I often use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), relational-cultural therapy (RCT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), but I'm always ready to tailor your treatment plan to your unique needs. I have also been trained in and am currently seeking certification in EMDR (eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing). I love to spend some time building a solid foundation that includes digging into personal and/or professional values. I believe that developing a rapport and building that foundation help as we work towards increasing resilience and setting goals for future change.
