Melissa Micnhimer
In 2018, I graduated from Colorado Christian University with a Masters Degree in Counseling. Now as a licensed professional counselor (LPC), I have been working in my own private practice providing talk therapy as well as working for another practice providing neurofeedback services. I primarily work with adults experiencing PTSD, anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. I primarily utilize EMDR and other trauma focused orientations to help my clients process through trauma, anxiety, and self-doubt. My therapeutic approach includes client-centered, EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, and I am beginning to incorporate some somatic therapy and parts work. I believe in looking at a person as a whole and all of the connected parts including thoughts, emotions, physical experiences (such as stomach pain, chest tightness, etc.), and behaviors. My first priority in counseling is building a good relationship with trust and respect between the two of us. I want you to feel safe and heard without any judgment. Once you feel safe, then deeper healing can occur and we can work together to meet your goals.
