I have a master's degree, a doctorate, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida. I have 30 years postgraduate experience. In addition to frequent issues such as anxiety, depression, anger, and substance abuse, I also utilize a propriety approach for marital/couples counseling. While my approach is somewhat eclectic, the foundation of my clinical orientation is cognitive-behavioral (CBT). I believe that counseling/therapy is ultimately about increased self-awareness followed by personal change in order to be happier. That is the reason people seek treatment. Regardless of the specific complaint or complaints, they're not happy. Our work together is about the client gaining clarity about what they are both willing and able to change in order to be happier. Increased self-awareness (i.e., "What is my role in some of these problems I'm experiencing?") and "tools" and strategies that will "work better." My style is relaxed, informal, and egalitarian,
