Michelle Perry
Sometimes life can feel overwhelming. Sometimes you might just need someone to process your experiences with, and sometimes you might need someone to help you navigate and facilitate change in your life. Maybe you have tried therapy before, or maybe you are just thinking about giving it a try. Whether you need general support or are looking for trauma informed therapy, I offer a kind and judgement free therapeutic experience where my clients will feel supported, heard, and challenged. My client's experiences range from adjusting to life transitions and changes, to depression and anxiety, to substance use, to codependency, and trauma. Whether you are dealing with relationship changes and life transitions or you are in the depths of depression and anxiety, I have multiple tools and modalities that I use to offer support and to navigate change. I am trained in EMDR and I use this modality quite a bit. I also use CBT, DBT, and other approaches as needed and appropriate. Many of my clients tell me that I am easy to talk to, and they are often surprised and relieved by my non-judgmental approach. I received my Master's Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2012. I spent 15 years working in the role of a social worker in skilled nursing facilities. I also spent 7 years acting as the Director of Bereavement for a local hospice. My work experiences, combined with my personal ones, have allowed me to become a compassionate and empathetic counselor, trained to meet clients where they are in their life experiences. I am a certified Grief Educator, trained by David Kessler. I have also completed EMDR training (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
