I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2003. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in General Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Asheville in 1997, then went on to complete my Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in 1999.
I have spent the majority of my career working with individuals, couples and families coping with mental health issues, grief, loss and all types of trauma. I specialize in couples' work, collaborative treatment for anxiety and depression, family systems issues (change, divorce, caregiving), women's issues, and working with individuals and families who have experienced cognitive impairment, trauma, and illness/bereavement issues.
I am trained in hypnotherapy, CBT, EMDR, CISM, mindfulness, and I most recently became a CIMHP (Certified Integrative Mental Health Practitioner).
I am also a Certified Alzheimer’s Level I and II Trainer through the University of South Florida, providing dementia-specific training and support to family caregivers as well as healthcare professionals.
