Growing up as an Afro-Caribbean-Latinx female, there was an even larger stigma around mental health and wellness than there is today. As a result, I did not have open access to mental health support, when it became available, there were few providers who looked like me. This drove my desire to support others in the process of silencing the shame that can come with reaching out. I’m not the “tell me why you feel the way you feel” therapist; I’m the ”let us dig into what is going on” therapist. You have a partner here, so let’s get you to where you want to be. If you don’t know where that is, let’s figure it out together. Finding a therapist can feel very overwhelming, especially as a person of color, but it doesn’t have to be. If you are looking for a safe space where you can come as you are and be your true self, I encourage you to connect with me. I value my clients and their willingness to share their experiences and trust in the process even when it may feel challenging. So coming to sessions with me means that you will not only be in a safe space that is all your own but that you will walk away feeling that not only is change possible but it is also sustainable.
