I am a Clinical Social Worker and have been in the social work field for 23 years. I have worked in many different types of settings throughout my career and loved all of them. Many times I'm told "I don't know how you do what you do" and I always say, it's a gift, a calling and yes some of my jobs have been very difficult... however, I get to see the light at the end of the tunnel with my clients and this far exceeds the tough stuff, making it all worth every effort.
My therapy background includes working for a homeless shelter and a transitional living facility for mentally ill both in New York. The remainder of my career is in Texas working for a federal prison for women, a school district for ages 3-18 to include home visits with parents, teaching parenting classes, Children's Advocacy Center for sexually and physically abused children and working with their families, along with the past two years online therapy for anyone in need.
