Robert Stephani
I have worked with people for over thirty years in every level of care and every setting. I received my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from University of Northern Colorado in 1996 and keep abreast of the growing field of psychology with frequent trainings and seminars. I have experience in a number of therapies but I have found Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and its cousin Dialectical Behavioral Therapy have been the most helpful to my clients. I help people who are suffering depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use issues as well as issues of adjusting to life. I am licensed as a professional counselor, and am a Certified Addiction Specialist in Colorado. Let's take the first step today. CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) provide skills and strategies (combinations of skills) to help them get unstuck and move forward with their lives. Sometimes our sessions are directive and other times it is process oriented, applying skills to themes we identify together to become more effective (Do more of what works and less of what doesn't) and deliberate (being more conscious of choices rather than reactive). We set clear goals together in a collaborative and relaxed atmosphere. You are the expert on you. I help clarify your goals, gain insight into the themes of your life, and empower you to make meaningful change.
