I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist , Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. I have received my Master Degree in Counseling Psychology from Palo Alto University. I am EMDR and Flash Technique therapist. I am a Traumatology Institute Training Curriculum, Clinical Traumatologist. I specialize in trauma and OCD. I have experience in, but not limited to: Trauma informed care, alleviating the pain and suffering caused by depression, anxiety, grief, parenting support, psychological hurdles, attachment issues, psychosis, complex relationship dynamics, life skills development child, adolescent and young adult transitions, domestic violence, sexual abuse recovery, African American identity issues, and holistic mindfulness therapy.
I am also an Adjunct Professor at the University of San Francisco, where I teach Cross Cultural Counseling, Substance Abuse & Addiction Counseling, Adult Development, Psychopathology counseling, Child and Adolescent Counseling and Trauma and Crisis counseling.
I have trained in Resmaa Menakem's Somatic Abolitionism, as well as various other trauma resolution modalities in service to my clients, students, and colleagues. My life, training, and clinical experience have shown how trauma, anxiety, and depression can get stuck in our bodies. I believe in a bottom-up approach to healing. I view myself as a manufacturer of hope and healing in service to those who wish to become post-traumatic thrivers free of any unhealthy behaviors.
But, most importantly, I am a mother of six amazing young women and two granddaughters. I understand the complexities of Mother Hunger. Allow me to assist you in your healing process.
